The Fylingdales Group of Artists
Sandy Tipper Wolverson
Sandy Tipper-Wolverson studied a degree in Art and Design at Hull College of Art as a mature student, and has lived in Robin Hood's Bay for many years. She specialised in Fine Art, graduating in 1982. She has shown widely including Holland, Kansas City and various UK locations.
She taught Art at Hymer's College in Hull and lectured at the Polytechnic. Since her retirement from teaching she has concentrated on her own oil painting, which relates strongly to family themes and local scenes retracing her own family history.
Sandy's subjects are explored using intense colour relationships and imaginative compositions – often pointing to what is going on outside the pictures frames rather than within.
What also shines through in her work is quite simply a love of experimenting with paint and different mediums.
